Astoria Palawan

The newest addition to the Astoria luxury chain of hotels and resorts is the Astoria Palawan. The resort was built in a spacious mango orchard in Puerto Princesa, Palawan that embodies luxury and beauty.

The resort is proud of its rustic-modern architectural design suitable for a relaxing ambience. It offers a wide array of room selections that can accommodate a solo traveler or a large family who wants to experience its first class service and hospitality.

Astoria is located in San Rafael, Puerto Princesa, Palawan, North East of the city proper and 63 KM away, or around almost 2 hours from Puerto Princesa International Airport, according to Google Maps. Though the place is quite remote from the city, it is accessible via public transport. Buses and closed vans have regular trips to El Nido, which passes by the resort along the highway, and guests may opt for these if they are planning for a do-it-yourself travel. The resort also has car service for ₱2,000.00 from the Airport to the resort and vice versa. The location is appropriate if you are planning to visit El Nido, Puerto Princesa City or the Puerto Princesa Underground River because it has a direct access to the major roads connecting to these landmarks.

We were given a Superior room for our 3 days and 2 nights stay at the resort. What I really loved about Astoria was its quiet atmosphere all throughout our entire stay. If you want a quiet place to relax and meditate, this place is an excellent choice for you.

Our room is expansive! It has a floor to ceiling glass window for the occupants to view the blooming flowers and the mango trees with hanging fruits outside. It has two doors; the main one from the alley, and the other leading to the front garden where you can have a cup of coffee or simply relax on the benches.

We spent most of our time in our room watching TV or surfing the internet since the resort is equipped with wifi connection. The room is conducive not only for sleeping but also to relax and detach yourself from everyday responsibilities. It has a wide set of facilities and amenities to give you comfort and convenience.

With this caliber of hotel and resort, I would always anticipate a good breakfast, not to mention the setting of the restaurant. The partly open-air and partly air-conditioned restaurant faces the infinity pool and further across it, the vast ocean. The smell of the freshly cooked food, plus the breeze from the ocean and the leaves could make anyone eat extensively.

Regular guests are offered buffet breakfast. There is a wide selection of food such as cereals, omelets, pasta, bacon, fruit juices, bread, meat, deserts and so on.

The first thing that catches my attention when visiting a resort is their swimming pool. For me, the swimming pool defines the beauty and quality of the resort. Undeniably, their infinity pool is beautiful. It is five feet deep and the blue water is inviting. The rattan pool chairs are available at one side as well as tables. You could do sun bathing or reading while loosening up.

Mountain bikes (Fat bikes) are also available if you want to explore the whole resort with ease. You can easily go around the place in less than 10 minutes. Those who wanted to stay active while on vacation can do so, since the gym is right next to your doorsteps. It is complete with sets of equipment for you to stay active and fit. Also available are billiards, table tennis, football table, and video games if you wanted variety.

Our entire stay was memorable and satisfying. Staff greeted us with their warm smiles upon arrival. They are reliable, friendly and trained.

The resort offers excellent services to the guest; while the facilities and amenities are highly commendable. Definitely one of the best experience I had. A visit or stay at this hotel is highly recommended for all travelers and tourists who want a relaxing experience with a touch of luxury.
