If you’re tired of waiting at the long queues of your favorite restaurants or coffee shops, why not try to go local. Sometimes the best experiences are to be found in these small-scale restaurants or coffee shops where you don’t have to wait for several hours just to enjoy your meals or beverages. You also get to help these small entrepreneurs by patronizing their products.
One would not expect that there is a cozy and comfy resto and coffee shop in a row of taverns along roxas boulevard. It is undeniable that there are hundreds of restaurants and coffee shops around Malate, but what made this shop stood out for me is its location and ambience. The place is accessible via roxas boulevard (west) service road with available parking for its patrons. It is quiet and not over crowded. You’ll definitely enjoy your entire stay.
The Martinilly’s offers great food with affordable prices. The food price starts at around ₱150 as entrée up to ₱500 for sharing or group meals. As a matter of fact, the restaurant also offers their own blended beverages and a variety of alcoholic drinks. The place has an al fresco area for those who wanted their beer in the open air overlooking the bayside, and an enclosed air conditioned dining hall for those who love to relax without outdoor noise, while at the same time enjoying the manila bay scenery.
The coffee shop is at the second floor which gives the patrons the best view of the bay especially during sunset, even if blocked by the roadside trees. The glass wall made the shop look very relaxing and spacious. I then picture myself having a cup of coffee while reading my favorite book (Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan) at their comfy couch facing the beautiful Manila Bay in the wee hours of the morning, or simply spending a delightful evening on bayside Malate.
Don’t miss the chance to visit Martinilly’s for another great coffee experience.
